Our 2018 in Summary

2018 was another year of mixture of grief and joy. We had another death in the family two years in a row. We enjoyed various outdoor activities: golf, basketball, tennis, badminton, and croquet. Both Eric and I turned half a century old :). Through it all, God has been good, faithful, and gracious! On January 10th, we had two big scares on the same day. Our daughter had a car accident in San Angelo, TX. Someone ran through a red light in the intersection and hit my daughter's car (see picture below). So grateful that God protected Alyssa and her friends (passengers). They only had minor aches and pains. Alyssa bought a cobalt blue 2018 Toyota Corolla SE Sedan to replace her totaled car. On the same day, my father-in-law (who was 81) had a stroke. We're so thankful that God healed him and restored his health. On February 10th, Josiah bought a white 1993 Lexus (his 3rd car) for $1,600. It is still working well :). On March 2nd, we moved out of our Newberg home (lived the

Review: Artsy Olive Framed Art Print

I was given an opportunity to review a 7.7 x 7.7" customized framed art print from Artsy Olive. I was very pleased with the ordering process and the product ! Isn't this simply beautiful and meaningful? My husband and I chose one of our favorite Bible verses: Proverbs 3:5. We also put our wedding date as the start of our family. We love it! It goes so well with what we already had on our hallway's wall. I was impressed with how easy it was to order and the art print was shipped the next day. The website is well organized. There are various designs to choose from. My husband and I like so many of them (it took us a while to narrow down and pick one). On the website, you can search by category (such as home & family, inspiring words, sports & hobby, etc.), occasions (such as Christmas, anniversary, graduation, etc.), styles (such as rustic, retro, coastal, etc.), or collections (such as fruitful kitchen, one true King, southern women, etc.). Christmas is almost

Book Review: Enfolded in God's Arms by Lisa Are Wulf

Enfolded in God's Arms is a 40-day devotional for women. It aims to help women find healing, hope, peace, strength, restoration, and growth through spending time with God in prayer and in His Word. We all have experienced hurts, pains, struggles, trials in some ways or another at some time in our lives. It's not always easy to let go of these burdens. You will find this devotional a soothing balm for your soul. The author offers helpful insights, Godly perspectives, practical advice, and wonderful doses of encouragement. The book is divided into four sections: A Time to Heal, A Time to Change, A Time with Jesus, and A Time to Grow. Each section has 10 reflections. Each reflection starts with a Bible verse, followed by a short devotional, an excerpt from a Psalm, a pause ("Be Still for a Silent Moment with God"), and pondering questions. It ends with a prayer and a blank space for readers to write down their thoughts. This devotional is an enjoyable and upliftin

Movie Review: Ant-Man and the Wasp 3D

Opening Date:                 Friday,  July 6th Rated:                               PG-13 Running Time :                125 minutes Three years after Ant-Man , Ant-Man and the Wasp is released. This film takes place in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War . Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Pau Rudd) is under house arrest and enjoys spending time with his daughter, Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson).  Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) urgently need Ant-Man's help to find Janet Van Dyne/the original Wasp (Michelle Pfeiffer) in the Quantum Realm. They have to overcome many obstacles along the way in order to get the quantum tunnel to work. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a light-hearted movie filled with timely humor and spectacular action scenes. I personally like this sequel better than the original Ant-Man . It's lots of fun to watch! Ant-Man/Scott Lang is a very likable character and a cool dad. The beauty and value of family connection are shown t

Review: Prone To Wander Phone Cases

Sometimes we need an encouragement or a reminder of God's Word in our lives because the world and the Enemy often distract us and/or discourage us. Prone To Wander LA creates products that include God's Word to help remind us of God's beautiful promises and guiding truth. I received 3 phone cases for review (1 wood "Blessed" case, 1 shimmer "Love Never Fails" case, and 1 clear "Seek First His Kingdom" case). I love all three! They are gorgeous and easy to put on and take off. They fit my iphone 6s perfectly. The wood case seems sturdiest. The shimmer case is so cool and shiny. The clear case is stylish. Each case is beautifully designed. People will notice and compliment. They also provide opportunities for conversations with others about faith and the Bible. These cases would make great gifts for all the women in your lives. Mother's Day is next month; your mothers and mothers-in-laws would be thrilled to get these cases as gifts. M

Book Review: Grace Revealed

In this life, trials are inevitable. Sooner or later we all face some kind of trials. Grace Revealed tells nineteen true stories of people who have endured various trials & suffering and have experienced God's amazing grace that pursues them, saves them, transforms them, sanctifies them, and sustains them. In addition, God's inexhaustible grace empowers them to serve Him by serving others. Their struggles include addictions, abuse, loss, tragedy, pain, grief, guilt, and more. When they encountered God's grace, mercy, love, redemption, and forgiveness, they received strength, comfort, relief, recovery, renewal, and more. These raw and beautiful testimonies are a living proof of God's presence, provision, protection, promise, and power. Hope, healing, freedom, peace, and joy are available to all who cry out to God. Each story ends with Bible verses that have helped the story's contributor, Fred Sievert's thoughts on the story, and some thought-provo

We Cry Holy  is a beautiful song that praises God's holiness and proclaims Jesus is our Strength. For Your Kingdom  (the title of this album) i

Book Review: Your Marriage God's Way by Scott LaPierre

Since God is the One who designed marriage, it makes perfect sense that His Word (the Bible) is the best manual for marriage. In Your Marriage God's Way , the author offers a  thorough study of what God's Word says about marriage and roles of husbands and wives. The author, Scott LaPierre , is passionate about helping married couples experience joy in their marriage by obeying God's instructions. The book  covers important topics such as headship and submission, love (agape) and respect, beauty, intimacy, and more.  I appreciate all the Scripture references and the explanation of original Greek words. I find it helpful that the author discusses what respect looks like to a husband, what disrespect looks like to a husband, how we submit is as important as submitting, what submission does not mean, how a wife can make her husband's spiritual leadership easier, what you are to do if you are married to an unbeliever, how husbands and wives should respond  when a husba
