Our 2018 in Summary

2018 was another year of mixture of grief and joy. We had another death in the family two years in a row. We enjoyed various outdoor activities: golf, basketball, tennis, badminton, and croquet. Both Eric and I turned half a century old :). Through it all, God has been good, faithful, and gracious! On January 10th, we had two big scares on the same day. Our daughter had a car accident in San Angelo, TX. Someone ran through a red light in the intersection and hit my daughter's car (see picture below). So grateful that God protected Alyssa and her friends (passengers). They only had minor aches and pains. Alyssa bought a cobalt blue 2018 Toyota Corolla SE Sedan to replace her totaled car. On the same day, my father-in-law (who was 81) had a stroke. We're so thankful that God healed him and restored his health. On February 10th, Josiah bought a white 1993 Lexus (his 3rd car) for $1,600. It is still working well :). On March 2nd, we moved out of our Newberg home (lived the...

Review: Artsy Olive Framed Art Print

I was given an opportunity to review a 7.7 x 7.7" customized framed art print from Artsy Olive. I was very pleased with the ordering process and the product ! Isn't this simply beautiful and meaningful? My husband and I chose one of our favorite Bible verses: Proverbs 3:5. We also put our wedding date as the start of our family. We love it! It goes so well with what we already had on our hallway's wall. I was impressed with how easy it was to order and the art print was shipped the next day. The website is well organized. There are various designs to choose from. My husband and I like so many of them (it took us a while to narrow down and pick one). On the website, you can search by category (such as home & family, inspiring words, sports & hobby, etc.), occasions (such as Christmas, anniversary, graduation, etc.), styles (such as rustic, retro, coastal, etc.), or collections (such as fruitful kitchen, one true King, southern women, etc.). Christmas is almost ...

Book Review: Enfolded in God's Arms by Lisa Are Wulf

Enfolded in God's Arms is a 40-day devotional for women. It aims to help women find healing, hope, peace, strength, restoration, and growth through spending time with God in prayer and in His Word. We all have experienced hurts, pains, struggles, trials in some ways or another at some time in our lives. It's not always easy to let go of these burdens. You will find this devotional a soothing balm for your soul. The author offers helpful insights, Godly perspectives, practical advice, and wonderful doses of encouragement. The book is divided into four sections: A Time to Heal, A Time to Change, A Time with Jesus, and A Time to Grow. Each section has 10 reflections. Each reflection starts with a Bible verse, followed by a short devotional, an excerpt from a Psalm, a pause ("Be Still for a Silent Moment with God"), and pondering questions. It ends with a prayer and a blank space for readers to write down their thoughts. This devotional is an enjoyable and upliftin...
