DVD Review: Find A Way

Inspired by a true story, Find A Way is a film about a beautiful faith legacy left by Harry Cohen (aka "Smiley"). Smiley was a high school star football player who loved God and people. He's always ready to help and encourage others. His untimely death shakes his adopted parents, friends, and community. It makes them reevaluate their own lives and priorities. Casey's parents (Dai and Pam) are constantly fighting and struggling to keep their marriage going. Casey's boyfriend just broke up with her and her sister prefers shopping at the mall to spending time with her. Nick's father who is the high school football coach pushes him to practice football even though Nick's passion is in music. Alex Jordan, the high school's Christian counselor/psychologist, reaches out to students and staff during this difficult time with messages of hope and perseverance amidst hardships and sufferings. Smiley's life may be short but He definitely made a lasting impact on the lives of many within his short years on earth. His compassion and wisdom are remembered and talked about. His strong faith in God inspires others to see that God always provides a way/solution even when there seems to be none. Hope you'll check out this faith-filled, thought-provoking DVD!

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo...

I was excited to get an opportunity to review this brand new VeggieTales DVD. The Little House That Stood cleverly combines the story of the Three Little Pigs with the parable of the wise & foolish builders (Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 6:46-49). The Three Little Pigs come to Cabbageville looking to build their houses. They meet three different builders: Larry who builds with hay, Mr. Lunt who builds with bricks, and Bob who builds with wood. But only Bob the Builder builds his houses on a firm foundation by following instructions from the Master Builder's Handbook. Kids...
