I have seen and heard several homeschool moms getting discouraged, burned out, or overwhelmed. I've been there, done that :). I think it's important for us moms (and dads) to encourage one another and learn from one another in our homeschooling journey/adventure! I'd like to share what I've learned... I am still learning and relying on God every single day. I hope what I share here may encourage some. My "top ten tips" are: 1. " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight ." Proverbs 3:5-6 2. We are so grateful for the Lord's blessings, love, grace, mercy, and faithfulness throughout the years.  I like to take a look back each year at what He had done for us, in us, and through us.  We're especially thankful for the Lord's healing on our 12 year old son.  There's a big difference in him between 2009 and 2010. 1. Our daughter, Alyssa (16 then), gave 2 wonderful speeches at our local speech/apologetics club. 2. I was the Grand Prize Winner for Focus on the Family's Celebrating Life Contest in February. I've won a trip for two to Colorado and lunch with Jim Daly, the President of Focus on the Family, but Focus on the Family has not given me the prize yet (Update as of Feb., 2011: FOTF is arranging an all expense paid trip for our whole family of 5 to visit Colorado in July! Welcome, everybody, to our family's blog.  You can read about us on the left sidebar.  Our homeschool's name is "Children of Light Christian Academy".  " For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light  (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord ."  (Ephesians 5:8-10)  Our homeschool's motto is "Let's shine brightly for Jesus!"
