Are you a fan of the God's Not Dead film franchise? This is their latest film. God's Not Dead: In God We Trust is so relevant and timely during this election year. Reverend David Hill (David A.R. White) has to grapple with his faith and calling when he is asked to run for Congress. He is not made for politics, but he feels called to make a difference for the betterment of people and country. Unprepared, he cautiously enters the race against state senator Peter Kane (Ray Wise), a seasoned politician and ruthless opponent who is determined to remove religious influence from public policy. With the help of a capable but insecure campaign consultant, Lottie (Samaire Armstrong), Reverend David Hill navigates through the storms of political nastiness, corruption, lies, deceit, and scrutiny with moral courage and Godly principles. Scott Baio (from Happy Days) plays a charming but cunning campaign consultant for state senator Peter Kane. Outstanding cast all around including Isaiah Washington, Dean Cain, Charlene Tilton, with guest appearances by Governor Mike Huckabee and Newsboys. Great music, too.
I enjoyed the movie and highly recommend it. It opens in select theaters tomorrow (September 12). This film depicts politics as a spiritual battlefield between good and evil, light and darkness. It is not just a film for entertainment, but also a call to action. Christians are encouraged to stand firm in faith, stand up for what is Biblically right, and make our voice heard by voting and engaging in the political arena when appropriate. Did you know that 40 million Christians do not vote, 25 million are registered, but don’t vote, and 15 million aren’t even registered? We must not underestimate the importance and influence of our collective voices. This country, indeed, desperately needs moral and trustworthy leaders in every area of government. We must fight for freedom. Go check out this inspiring and thought-provoking film! You can buy tickets today here.
