The giveaway winner was randomly chosen using random.org. The winner is Vinny Johnson. Congratulations!
 Open Hands
Laura Story's new album, Open Hands, is now in stores. I love Laura's beautiful voice and passionate heart for God. Laura Story is a gifted song writer. This new album is filled with meaningful, worshipful, reflective songs. Below is the list of songs.
1. Death Was Arrested
2. Open Hands
3. You Came Running
4. Give You Faith
5. For the Love of My King
6. Awake My Soul (A 1000 Tongues)
7. Whisper
8. Every Word You Breathe
9. Majesty
10. Extraordinary
11. Grace Abounds

The first song, Death Was Arrested, reminds us of God's love, grace, & mercy and our life & freedom in Christ. One of my favorite songs in this album is Open Hands, a song about faith and surrender (featuring Third Day's Mac Powell). You Came Running talks about hope and comfort we find in God & His faithfulness. As a mom, I can relate to the song, Give You Faith, which shares my desire to teach my children about faith in God and to leave a legacy of faith. Another favorite is For the Love of My King, which is an adaptation of the hymn, "My Jesus, I Love Thee." Awake My Soul is an adaptation of the hymn, "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing." Whisper is a song about waiting for the Lord in quiet trust and surrender. Every Word You Breathe is a prayerful song of revival. Majesty is a wonderful song of praise. I love the catchy, uplifting song, Extraordinary, which talks about God's extraordinary love for us. The last song, Grace Abounds, really ministers to my heart. God's grace truly abounds even when our faith is weak. I actually enjoyed every song. The songs resonate surrender, faith, hope, and encouragement. I highly recommend this album!

Review and Giveaway: Journey to Bethlehem

I love good musicals so I was excited to review Journey to Bethlehem (rated PG), the new musical about Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the birth of our promised Savior and King Jesus. The film's script writers take some creative license and fill in the unknowns such as how Mary and Joseph met and how they felt, the names and personalities of the three wise men, etc. They said they tried to remain true to the message of the greatest story ever told. While I enjoyed the movie and appreciated the quality of the film, I need to point out a few things that are definitely not Biblically accurate. First, the wise men came to the house, not the stable and presented gifts to the young Child, not the Baby (according to Matthew 2). Second, Herod the Great's son, Antipater, was not present at Christ's birth. Luke 2:8 says, " Now when Herod (Antipater) saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many thi

Movie Review and Giveaway: Sound of Freedom

Sound of Freedom is a powerful must-see film based on the true story of Timothy Ballard, a former US government agent who quits his job in order to devote his life to rescuing children from global sex traffickers. The story begins with a parent's worst nightmare. A father in Honduras cannot find his daughter and son when he comes to pick them up from a "talent audition" where he drops them off. Tim saves the boy from traffickers, but his sister is still kept captive. Tim decides to risk his own life journeying deep into the Colombian jungle to free her. Sound of Freedom is such an important and impactful movie that aims to help raise awareness about the prevalence of human trafficking and propel people to fight against this evil. I cannot recommend it enough. Bring tissues. I have to warn you that certain scenes in the movie will be hard to watch even though they try to show its mature and sensitive subject matter in a tasteful and honorable way. This real-life story is
