CD Review & Giveaway: Holy Roar by Chris Tomlin

Bio:

Chris Tomlin is one of the most heralded singer-songwriters in the world who has amassed an impressive body of work. He has sold more than 8 million albums, 11.3 million digital tracks with 16 #1 singles. Chris is one of only four artists ever to receive the Sound Exchange Digital Radio Award for over 1 Billion digital radio streams, others include Justin Timberlake, Pitbull and Garth Brooks. The Grammy® winner’s list of music awards include an American Music Award, 3 Billboard Music Awards, 21 Dove Awards, a BMI Songwriter of the Year Award and more. Chris’ concert tours have sold-out venues in major cities including New York City’s Madison Square Garden, The Forum in Los Angeles, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and Red Rocks in Denver, among others. This spring, Chris marked another career milestone by launching his own imprint record label, Bowyer & Bow, in partnership with Capitol Christian Music Group.

I've been a fan of Chris Tomlin's music since I heard Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). Therefore, I was excited to have this opportunity to review his newest CD. He has recently released an album, "Holy Roar," along with a companion book called "Holy Roar: 7 Words That Will Change the Way You Worship". Chris Tomlin expressed, “HOLY ROAR is the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts. It’s every voice together, changing the way we worship.”

Below is the list of songs:
1. Holy Roar
2. Nobody Loves Me Like You

3. Resurrection Power
4. Goodness, Love and Mercy
5. Satisfied
6. Impact
7. Praise Him Forever

8. Is He Worthy?
9. Forever Young
10. I Stand In Awe (Feat. Nicole Serrano)

11. Praise Is the Highway
12. How Sweet It Is (Feat. Pat Barrett)

This CD is packed with praise anthems. Some of my favorites on this album include Satisfied, Is He Worthy?, I Stand In AwePraise Is the Highway, and How Sweet It Is. Satisfied reminds us that God alone is all we need and God alone satisfies our soul. Is He Worthy? is a song of faith; it presents questions and affirmative answers regarding God's attributes. How Sweet It Is is reflects upon how sweet it is to be loved by Jesus. Nothing compares to what He has done for us! The title song, Holy Roar, calls the Body of Christ to exalt God and praise Him with reckless abandon. Nobody Loves Me Like You is a praise song of adoration and gratitude for Jesus's faithful, amazing, saving love. Resurrection Power celebrates freedom that Jesus has given us and resurrection power that dwells in us. Goodness, Love and Mercy is a beautiful song based on Psalm 23. Impact acknowledges our need for God and the powerful impact of God's love. Forever Young affirms the eternal life we have in Christ.

Every song on this CD will stir you to worship our great God. If you enjoy Chris Tomlin's music and/or praise & worship music, check this CD out. Christmas is coming up pretty soon. This CD would certainly make a wonderful Christmas gift.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
