DVD Review and Giveaway: Can You Believe It? by Hillsong Kids

Can You Believe It?

"Can You Believe It?--Songs of Truth" by Hillsong Kids is a wonderful DVD filled with fun & upbeat songs that will get kids singing and dancing while learning more about God's truths. It includes 14 songs with lyric videos, live performances in the studio, 4 music videos, and Funny Man Dan chat with the host (Dave). Dave and Funny Man Dan talk about the six Biblical truths covered by the songs on the DVD, interview two singers, and challenge the listeners with a game called, "Can You Match It?" which asks the listeners to match the song titles with the 6 Biblical truths: God, the Bible, Separation & a Savior, Living for God, God's House/Church, The Best Is Yet to Come.

Below is the list of the songs on the DVD:
1. I Give You My Hallelujah
2. Ask Seek Knock
3. This Is Living
4. Who You Say I Am
5. My Best Friend
6. Voices of Freedom
7. Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
8. Little Life (For You Jesus)
9. Made In Your Image
10. We Came to Meet With You
11. As the World Shakes
12. Heaven Is Our Home
13. What a Beautiful Name
14. You Know Me

I really enjoyed the DVD even though I'm not a kid :). I Give You My Hallelujah is a catchy praise song and has a cool guitar solo. Ask Seek Knock encourages us that we are never alone and God knows what we need. This Is Living shows that living with God and for God is the way to live our lives. Who You Say I Am reminds us that we are children of God, chosen and free. My Best Friend is one of my favorite songs on the DVD. Jesus is my Best Friend; nothing ever changes that! Voices of Freedom urges us to not stay quiet but to sing with voices of freedom and live our faith out loud for Jesus. The lyric video for this song is quite creative and relevant to young people. It uses a format of text messages and emojis. Oceans is a classic song of faith that reflects upon God's sovereignty, trinity, and faithfulness. Little Life is one of the slower songs that explains how we may live our lives for Jesus with our hands, feet, eyes, and hearts. Made In Your Image talks about God the Potter molding and shaping us, the clay, everyday. As the World Shakes invites us to build our lives on what God says and to trust Him, Who is our Rock. What a Beautiful Name is another one of my favorites. The music video for this song shows God's beautiful creation (as the kids hiking in the woods) which is perfect for reflection time on Jesus, our King.

I highly recommend this DVD! It's a great tool to be used in a Sunday School class, Vacation Bible School, worship, or at home. I'm glad that the DVD includes the lyrics videos so that I can sing along. The music makes me want to move and dance. Christmas is just around the corner. This DVD would make a meaningful gift for any kids in your lives.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
