Movie Review: Toy Story 4

Opening Date:             Friday, June 21st
Running Time:            100 mins
Rated:                           G

Nine years after Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4 is released today. It's definitely worth the wait! It's difficult to make a good sequel after a trilogy but I think Toy Story 4 succeeded. Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang meet a new toy named Forky (voiced by Tony Hale). They went on a road trip with Bonnie and her parents. Adventures abound. Along the way, Woody reunites with Bo Peep who has become independent and free-spirited. They team up with new hilarious toys named Duke Caboom (voiced by Keanu Reeves), Bunny (voiced by Jordan Peele), and Ducky (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key) in order to get Forky out of Second Chance Antiques and back to Bonnie. "No toy gets left behind" is the theme that runs throughout all Toy Story films, including this one. If you already love Woody, you will love him even more. Toy Story 4 beautifully shows the importance of loyalty, friendship, kindness, finding purpose, letting go and moving on.
The animation is superb. The characters are lovable and memorable as always. The story-telling is delightful and heartwarming. The ending is somewhat bittersweet. My family and I enjoyed the movie and laughed a lot. Some of us even got teary-eyed. In the movie theater, the adults laughed just as loud as the little kids. It's the franchise that bridges generations. I highly recommend this funny, entertaining, and touching film for the whole family! I hope Pixar will make Toy Story 5. These toys have become our beloved friends over the years and we want to keep seeing them on their new adventures.
P.S. Remember to stay and watch extra scenes when the credits start rolling :)!

~Special thanks to Allied Global Marketing for the opportunity to attend an advance screening of Toy Story 4 for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
