Review: Courage for Life Bible App (Free)

Courage for Life Bible App is the first female voiced audio Bible app. It uses the New Living Translation and it's free to download. I love reading the Bible in print and enjoy listening to audio Bible. Audio Bible apps are helpful and convenient for people who don't like to read or have trouble reading, people who have eye problems, auditory learners, and those who are on the go. It is quite useful and practical for me when I'm exercising or cleaning. The project was originally started to help hurting women, including victims of abuse, since listening to a man read the Bible can turn them off from hearing God's Word. 12 women read 27 books of the New Testament. These women did an excellent job. Their enunciation is clear; the pace of their reading is good (not too fast and not too slow). Their voices are pleasant to listen to.

There's an introduction at the beginning of each book. The introduction includes information about the author, the audience, what's going on at the time the book was written, when & why the book was written, where the audience were, a key verse/passage from that book, how we should read the book, and how the book can be divided.  There's an application at the end of each book. The application includes 7 steps of C.O.U.R.A.G.E. (how to apply what we learn and put courage into action) and thought-provoking questions. The acrostic C.O.U.R.A.G.E. stands for Commit to change, Overcome obstacles, Uncover your true self, Replace worldly lies with Scriptural truths, Accept the things you cannot change, Grasp God's love for you, and Embrace a life of grace. On the app, you will also find interviews, devotions (excerpts from She Is Strong and Courageous), more Bible studies, and resources. God's Word gives us guidance, wisdom, hope, peace, joy, comfort, and courage for life. I encourage you to download this wonderful app, fill your heart & mind with God's Word, and live life with courage.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
