Review and Giveaway: ‘Christmas Under the Stars’ featuring Lauren Daigle

I love Lauren Daigle's rich & husky voice so I was excited for the opportunity to review her Christmas special, "Christmas Under the Stars". Are you ready for some Christmas carols? I love Christmas songs and can listen to them anytime of the year. I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas concert. You can watch this spectacular Christmas special on December 6th at 9:00 pm ET (6:00 pm PT) on BYUtv or on the BYUtv app. Stream the show for free on BYUtv anytime after the premiere. If you are fans of Lauren Daigle or fans of Adele (their voices are similar), you will enjoy this Christmas special (about 55 minutes long). Grammy, Billboard Music and Dove-award winning artist Lauren Daigle beautifully sang 15 songs, paying homage to New Orleans Jazz music. I really like the energetic sound of saxophone and trombone. The songs include some of popular holiday songs like "Winter Wonderland," "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "Jingle Bells" and some of my personal favorites such as "What Child Is This," "Away in a Manger," "Little Drummer Boy," "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," "Silent Night," and "O Holy Night." She also sang some songs from her album, "Behold" (released in 2016): "Christmas Time Is Here," "White Christmas," and "Light of the World." Between songs, Lauren shared her personal experiences and thoughts about Christmas. She included one of her favorite Christmas songs, "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole and two of her well-known songs, "Rescue" and "You Say." I delightfully sang along with most of the songs (the ones I know well). "Christmas Under the Stars" is just the right show to put you in Christmas spirit.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
