Book Review: The Anxiety Reset by Gregory L. Jantz, Ph.D. and Keith Wall

We all have experienced anxiety in varying degrees in our lifetime. Usually, most of us just deal with occasional anxiety which comes and goes but for some people, anxiety is their constant struggle and crippling illness that prevents them from living their lives to the fullest or at times from functioning in their daily lives. The Anxiety Reset presents the whole-person approach (mind, body, soul) to overcoming fear, stress, worry, panic attacks, OCD, and more. I hardly get anxious but some of my loved ones are prone to anxiety. I wanted to read this book so that I may understand them better and know how to help them. I also plan to share this book with them. This book is packed with valuable and insightful information. It's very well written, full of scientific research data, and yet easy to understand. It's also written with compassion and understanding. Dr. Jantz uses real life examples including his own. He himself is no stranger to anxiety.

The book consists of 18 chapters organized into two parts: Part 1: Where You Are, How You Got Here (Surveying the Landscape of Your Anxiety) and Part 2: The Pathway to Peace (Overcome Obstacles & Find Freedom). The book covers different types of anxiety, causes (physical, psychological, and lifestyle roots), the physical dangers of stress, medication and risks involved, unhealthy habits that intensify anxiety, the three stages of trauma recovery, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), anti-anxiety nutrient reset checklist, a list of supplements that help calm anxiety, soul care, sanity through simplicity, and more. The book also includes Self-Assessment Tools, Unmasking Myths and Misconceptions, Innovative and Intriguing Treatment Options, Relief through Relaxation, The Roots of Anxiety: Childhood Troubles & Traumas, and Recommended Resources. Each chapter ends with "Your Personal Reset Plan" which are practical strategies for readers to personally apply in order to move forward on the path toward healing, freedom (from the bondage of fear and anxiety), and peace. The Anxiety Reset offers hope, encouragement, facts, and solutions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is suffering with anxiety or has a loved one who is.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
