Movie Review and Giveaway: Courageous Legacy

It's hard to believe that it has already been 10 years since Courageous (Kendrick Brothers' 4th film) was first released. Courageous Legacy will be re-released in theaters on September 24th with a new ending showing what happens to the main characters ten years later. Courageous Legacy is a drama (with plenty of action) about four police officers and an unemployed construction worker forming friendship and tackling their faith, fears, and fathering. I watched Courageous ten years ago and I loved it. I just watched Courageous Legacy and I loved it even more. I laughed out loud a lot and I cried several times throughout the movie. Fantastic performance, great chase scene, and wonderful songs. Courageous Legacy covers many topics such as death, grief, regrets, healing, integrity, accountability, prayers, faith, fatherhood, and courage. The importance of fathers' influence is a such needed message for our time! It may be easy to write up a resolution but it takes courage to live out the resolution. I am glad that the movie also includes a clear gospel presentation pointing to the living hope found in our risen Lord and Savior. I highly recommend this movie to everyone, especially fathers who want to leave a godly legacy and live lives for what matters for eternity. Fathers are called to step up to reflect the heart and character of God our Heavenly Father and to be teachers, protectors, and providers to their children. Even if you've seen Courageous, I want to encourage you to go watch Courageous Legacy. It's still very much relevant and impactful as ever. If you've never seen Courageous, I definitely encourage you to go watch Courageous Legacy and prepare to be inspired and challenged. It's rated PG-13 due to some violence and drug content.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
