Movie Review: The Firing Squad

I've always loved movies based on true stories. The Firing Squad is a must-see film based on a remarkable true story about three criminals who were sentenced to be executed by firing squad in an Indonesian prison camp on April 29, 2015. The film includes some flashbacks to show us the main characters' background stories and events that led up to their imprisonment. As the events unfold and the execution dates approach, we get to witness all sorts of emotions that the characters experience: fear, anxiety, anger, bitterness, denial, trust, peace, love, forgiveness, resolve, etc. Their encounter with the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes their lives for eternity. God's beautiful transformation is evident and cannot be ignored. From darkness to light, from disheartened fear to undeterred faith, from being drug dealers to being devout Christ's followers, from dreadful death to eternal life!

I highly recommend this unforgettable movie! Bring tissue. I was so moved by it; I cried like a baby. Wow...the merciful love and saving grace of Christ powerfully touch and melt even the most-hardened hearts. It, in fact, ignites spiritual awakening throughout the whole prison camp. No matter what one's past is, nobody is beyond God's amazing grace and salvation. The Firing Squad is a heart-wrenching and inspiring film that boldly presents the gospel and the message of redemption, transformation, faith, hope, healing, and courage amidst daunting adversity, intimidating adversary, and disturbing anticipation of execution. You may not be in prison facing a death penalty, but death comes sooner or later for all of us. Now is the time to choose Christ, repent, surrender your life to Him, and put your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. To not decide now is to decide against it. None of us is promised tomorrow or another second for that matter. And if you are already saved and born again, I hope you see the urgency of sharing the gospel with others and leading people to Christ.

The film is rated PG-13 for thematic elements, drug references, and brief violence. Starring James Barrington, Kevin Sorbo, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. For acclaimed actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., this role wasn't just another character; it was a life-altering experience that led him to recommit his life to Christ and discover the profound peace and comfort found in Jesus Christ. He also admitted that he wept when he first read the script.

Currently there are some free screenings in key cities in AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, and TX. The film will be in theaters nationwide on August 2nd. Please invite your family and friends to go see this incredible, impactful movie and spread the word via social media. It is very difficult for faith-based films to compete with other movies from major Hollywood studios. Your support can help them reach a wider audience. This film will propel people to have a deep reflection and contemplation about life, death, and final destiny and compel them to ask questions, explore, and seek for answers. I hope and pray that God will use this powerful film to change lives and save souls. The filmmakers want to win 1 million people to Jesus through this film. You can be a part of the "One Million Souls for Christ" campaign. Check out https://millionsouls.org.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
