CD Review and Giveaway: Loved by JJ Heller

JJ Heller
Stone Table Records
Releases March 12

I had never heard of JJ Heller before. Loved is her sixth album. All songs were written by her and her husband, Dave Heller. I enjoyed listening to this CD. I like it when the musicians write their own music and lyrics because that makes the songs personal and usually they are sung with passion and feelings.

This album includes 10 songs:
- If You Fall

- For You
- Redemption
- Loved
- Create in Me
- Stay
- Better Things
- Come Back to Me
- Who You Are
- I Believe

JJ Heller has a beautiful, sweet voice. All songs have slow tempo which I prefer :). Some of my favorites include I Believe (it's about childlike faith), Who You Are (it's about trusting God for Who He is even when we don't understand what He's doing), Stay (it's about staying strong with Jesus), and Loved (it's about being loved by God). I also like Come Back to Me, Redemption, and For You. Check out this new CD filled with encouragement and assurance of God's love!

  2. JJ Heller is up there with Jars of Clay and TobyMac, Casting Crowns in their individual sounds-they aren't trying to be knockoffs of anyone else--but are true to the gifts God has blessed them with. Love her stuff!

  5. JJ Heller and her husband are an amazing couple who have produced music on their own, refusing to subject themselves to the rat race of popularity charts and the chase for money. I respect them and love the depth and reality of their music. Easy to listen to and always has powerful ministry coming out of their music.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo...
