Synopsis: Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

My Review: Thanks to Allied-THA Marketing, my family and I had the opportunity to watch Monsters University 3D (advance screening) at the theater on Monday. Monsters University is a prequel to Monsters Inc. The movie starts out with little Mike Wazowski in elementary school and during a field trip, he's inspired to become a scarer. He goes to Monsters University to fulfill his life-long dream but things don't work out as planned. He meets Sulley, his cocky classmate and they do not get off to a good start. When both get kicked out of the Scare Program, they team up with other monsters from Oozma Kappa to compete in the Scare Games. Competition. Friendship. Obstacles. Discovering individual gifts. Perseverance. And lots of laughter. My family and I really enjoyed the movie. It's even more meaningful since our daughter will be leaving for college this fall.

Interesting facts:
- Monsters, Inc., originally released on November 2, 2001, was nominated for four Oscars®: Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing and Best Original Song—“If I Didn’t Have You,” for which it won
- Oscar®- Grammy®- and Emmy®-winning composer/songwriter Randy Newman contributes his unique musical talents to his seventh Disney•Pixar film. The 20-time Oscar nominee’s wins include “If I Didn’t Have You” for “Monsters, Inc.” and “We Belong Together” for “Toy Story 3.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April this year.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
