Book Review and Giveaway: 30 Days to Understanding the Bible

The Bible is the most essential book one can ever read! It's the only book that can transform lives. However, some people may find it intimidating and/or confusing. Others may feel like they are too busy and don't have time to study the Bible. 30 Days to Understanding the Bible is a wonderful resource to help busy people get acquainted and comfortable with the Bible fast. It will give you a good foundation (beginning knowledge) that makes studying the Bible much easier and enjoyable. It's helpful even for long-time believers like me. I've learned more than I expected. In only 15 minutes a day for 30 days, you will learn the Bible's basic structure, story lines, geography (locations), history, central figures, events, and doctrines.

The book is divided into 7 sections: The Story of the Old Testament, The Story of the New Testament, Ten Great Doctrines of the Bible, NanoSummary of the Bible, How to Master the Bible So Well that the Bible Masters You, Teaching Plan, and Bonus Chapters. Each chapter includes review, storyline summary, expansion and ends with self-test. I'm a visual learner so I really appreciate all the visual aids such as maps, charts, timeline, and symbols. The fill-in-the-blanks throughout the book prove beneficial because r
epetition works well to help us remember what we learn. The author is very good at presenting the Bible's themes, summary, and key information in a well-organized, easy-to-follow manner. I'm quite impressed with the book. It's interesting, informative, engaging, and easy to use. Each chapter is short, concise, and packed with valuable facts that will give you a broad overview of the Bible, guide you to a greater understanding of the Scriptures, and spur you to dig deeper into God's Word. It's great for either personal study or small group study. I highly recommend this book to Bible teachers, pastors, and anyone who would like to get a good grasp of the Bible.

"The gospel is carried to imperfect people by imperfect people. Then those imperfect people are to band together to help one another grow to spiritual maturity." (p. 154)

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
