Book Review: On A Quest for Christ by Lisa Are Wulf

On A Quest for Christ is an award-winning 30-day devotional and workbook for women that traces the footsteps of one's faith journey. The author invites readers to explore their personal quest for Christ by reflecting upon their past and current experiences. Each chapter starts with Scriptures, a short introduction, the author's personal story, a note of encouragement, provoking questions that call for readers to answer with their own story, reflection with more Scriptures and questions, and ends with a prayer. I appreciate Lisa's transparency as she shares about both ups and downs through her own spiritual journey. Even though we all have traveled on different, unique paths, we may still be able to identify with some of her stories.

I personally find it refreshing and rewarding to take a look at the path God has led me to Himself and continues to lead. As you go through this book, you will see that our Almighty God works behind the scene all the time. Through joys and sorrows, celebrations and trials, God has been with us always and has loved us with His everlasting love. Each chapter is a short and concise read, yet it is insightful and encouraging. It will help you be aware of your spiritual journey from the very beginning ("Birthing"), how you have grown spiritually ("Growing," "Stretching," "Serving," "Persevering"), to "Moving Forward". If you have been Christ's followers for a long time, you may want to skip the first half of the book and start with Chapter 16.

This second edition includes four session lesson plan for a small group study plus tips on how to use this book. On A Quest for Christ is great for individual reflection, retreat experience, group study, or spiritual friendship. If you enjoy journaling, you'll appreciate this devotional. Keep clinging to Christ and keep growing spiritually! Living for God and walking with Christ daily is truly the grandest adventure!

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
