Review: Who Are You Following?: Pursuing Jesus in a Social-Media Obsessed World and Who Are You Following? Guided Journal: Find the Love and Joy You’ve Been Looking For by Sadie Robertson Huff

No one can deny that we are living in a social media obsessed world. People are being influenced and are influencing others on social media every day. Influences can be good/positive or can be bad/negative. It is crucial to be prudent about whom we follow. Who Are You Following? is written by Sadie Robertson Huff, a 24-year-old Christian speaker, author, and social media influencer. The book consists of nine chapters whose titles are questions such as Who Is Influencing You?, What Are You Seeking?, Who Are You Comparing Yourself To?, Why Do You Want to Be Famous?, What Are You Sharing and Why? Whom we are following does influence us, our thoughts & values, and the way we live our lives. And whether we are aware of it or not, we are influencing others around us. I am glad to see that the author ultimately points people to follow Jesus first and foremost and points out that our life's purpose is simply to love God and love people. Sadly, we live in a society that is addicted to social media, desperate for "likes", craving for comments, seeking fame, and idolizing celebrities. This book gives readers a reality check and guides them to focus on Jesus. I appreciate Sadie's sincerity, humility, and maturity. She shares her own experience and her struggles with anxiety and insecurity, in spite of fame, wealth, and success. The book is gospel-infused and filled with Biblical truths and wisdom. Fame, fans, and followers may flatter us, frustrate us, or fail us but will never fulfill us. We can only find freedom and fulfillment by putting our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, following Him, being captivated by His love, and living for Him. The book encourages readers to be more intentional about whom they are following on social media and to have discipline and self-control when using social media.

Do you feel lost, lonely, empty, aimless, discontent, anxious, inferior, and/or insecure while scrolling through social media? Check this book out! Who Are You Following? is timely and relevant, especially for young Christians who are active and present on social media.

Who Are You Following? Guided Journal is a wonderful accompaniment that includes beautiful color photos, thought-provoking questions, Bible verses to meditate on, encouragement takeaways, and prayers. You will also find additional stories and tips from Sadie.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo...
