Book Review: Revolution in World Missions

"The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed." (Hudson Taylor) Matthew 28:19-20 is not a suggestion but is Christ's command. My family is familiar with this book and Gospel for Asia (GFA). GFA serves in over 20 countries worldwide, focusing on reaching those who have never once heard the Good News of Jesus Christ -- those in the 10/40 window. Glad to see that the book continues to be offered for free. I highly recommend it. It will inspire you and convict you at the same time.

Revolution in World Missions is a true story of K.P. Yohannan's journey from India to America...from being a travelling evangelist to being the founder of Gospel for Asia. It all started with his mother's prayers. Through many obstacles and challenges, doubts and discouragement, K.P. and his wife (Gisela) have witnessed God's miracles, power, presence, providence, and faithfulness. My family shares their passion for reaching the unreached with the gospel. I personally can relate to many of K.P.'s experiences regarding culture shock since I was born and raised in a Two-Thirds World country. You will read about exciting conversion stories of a demon-possessed man, witch doctors, and others. The book shows that the indigenous missionary movement is a cost-effective, culturally ready way to reach the unreached, the poor & needy, and the closed people groups with the gospel. K.P. finds lots of Christians (in affluent countries) nowadays lack conviction and zeal for the Great Commission while taking affluence and freedom for granted. Does it bother you that we are living in excess and abundance (including a plethora of churches, Bibles, Christian resources, etc.) while millions are dying every day without hearing the Good News even once? It should! He challenges fellow Christians to understand the urgency of sharing the gospel with those who have never heard, to be agents of change in world missions, and to examine how they spend their God-given resources. GFA has many great programs such as sponsoring national missionaries, sponsoring children from impoverished families, developing communities, providing disaster relief and compassionate care, etc.

The book includes black and white photos, Appendix One (Questions and Answers), and Appendix Two (Contact Information). Are you ready to live your lives in the light of eternity? Do you desire to make an eternal impact in the world? You can request a free copy of Revolution in World Missions (free shipping, too) at https://bit.ly/FreeMissionsBook. By the way, this book has been published in 9 different languages. Remember that each one of us has a role to play in the Great Commission. It may be praying, giving, mobilizing, sending, and/or going. May we all use our time, talents, and treasures to further God's kingdom, not ours, and for His glory, not ours!

"Every time I stand before an audience, I try early in my message to ask two very important questions that every Christian needs to ask himself:
- Why do you think God has allowed you to be born with such privileges, rather than among the desperately poor slums in our world?
- In light of the blessings you enjoy, what do you think is your minimal responsibility to the millions suffering without the knowledge of Christ's love in our generation?
" (p. 82)

"God has not given us a superabundance of blessings so we can sit back and enjoy luxuries--or even in spiritual terms, so we can gorge ourselves on books and deeper-life conferences. He has left us on this earth to be stewards of these spiritual and material blessings, learning how to share with others and administer our wealth to accomplish the purposes of God...What is the bottom line? God is calling us as Christians to alter our lifestyles, to give up the nonessentials of our lives so we can better invest our wealth in the kingdom of God." (p.84)

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
