Pure Flix Easter and Giveaway

Easter is a time of remembering and celebrating Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection. This year, Easter is on April 17th which is approaching soon. Pure Flix has a wide range selection of Easter movies that will help you and your family prepare for the Easter season.

Here are some examples of available Easter films on Pure Flix:
- Risen
- The Passion of the Christ
- The Case for Christ
- The Chosen
- Penitent Thief

I have watched the top three on the list above. The most recent one was Risen. It's the epic Biblical story of Christ's resurrection, as told through a non-believer's eyes. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a Roman tribune, is assigned by Pontius Pilate (Peter Firth) to find the missing body of Yeshua/Jesus Christ, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. What Clavius finds changes his life forever. Even after he witnesses Jesus alive with his own eyes, he still struggles with doubt and fear. Jesus understands him, assures him, and comforts him with love, kindness, and compassion. I highly recommend this impactful film. Although I already know the story of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection from the Bible, this movie still touched me and moved me. It is powerful, faith-boosting, and gospel-centered. It's rated PG-13 for Biblical violence including some disturbing images of war, fighting, and crucifixion so it's not for young children. Outstanding performance from the cast, beautiful cinematography, incredible setting, excellent soundtrack, authentic costume designs, and the list goes on.... well, I hope you'll check Risen out this Easter season on Pure Flix.

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
