Review: The CSB Life Counsel Bible

One can never own too many Bibles, right? I am pleased to add this CSB (Christian Standard Bible) Life Counsel Bible to my Bible collection. It's like having God's wisdom plus application to counseling at my fingertips. It contains more than 150 articles on various topics related to marriage, parenting, relationships, mental health, and more. The overall theme is the gospel of God's grace. These articles are written by trustworthy Biblical counselors and scholars such as Paul David Tripp, Edward T. Welch, and Joni Eareckson Tada. This unique Bible provides hope, encouragement, and practical wisdom for life's tough issues such as stress, anxiety, grief, depression, addiction, sexuality, abuse, crisis, suicide, finances, adoption, conflict, and parenting struggles.

Each book's introduction includes Circumstances of Writing, Contribution to the Bible, Structure, and Truth for Healing. One of my favorite features in this Bible is: over 100-word studies with the Hebrew and Greek word origins. I enjoy studying God's Word in depth and find these words studies so handy and helpful. Other features include wide margins for notetaking and journaling, easy-to-read 9.5-point type size, full-color maps, concordance, topical Scripture index, and over 25,000 cross-references connecting Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. The CSB Life Counsel Bible is a wonderful resource for everyone, especially pastors, counselors, ministry leaders, couples, and parents. If you have been wanting to get a Bible or give a Bible as a gift (Christmas is next month), I'd encourage you to check out the CSB Life Counsel Bible today.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
