Review and Giveaway: Anne Wilson's Signed CD, "REBEL"

I love Anne Wilson and her music. I reviewed her first album, My Jesus (2022), and was so excited for this opportunity to review her 2nd album, REBEL (released on April 19). Wow...this girl is on fire for Jesus. I'm so glad to see a young musician being a "rebel" (going against the world's current/culture) for Jesus; she (22) is truly a rare gem among the younger generation. Each song in this album was written under the banner question, 'What does it mean to be a rebel in the world we live in today?' and given a corresponding tagline and Bible verse. Each song's tagline can be found in the REBEL physical CD or Vinyl packaging booklet.

Anne Wilson is definitely a breath of fresh air that I hope will fuel the passion for young & old believers to speak up about their faith & the gospel boldly even when it is unwelcomed and draw unbelievers to desire Jesus & His gift of salvation. Anne Wilson has a non-profit movement and community called Hey Girl Nation for girls and women of all ages to be encouraged and empowered by who they are in Christ alone. She aims to be a positive role model for girls who need one to look up to. One that reflects wholesome values that are rarely portrayed in today’s culture. Anne's goal is to use her music and platform to impact culture with a message of God's love, hope, faith, and courage.

Anne Wilson is not only a gifted musician but also a gifted songwriter. Her new album is filled with catchy songs that have a perfect blend of folk, soul, country, and contemporary pop music genres. There are 16 songs (see the list below) that cover a variety of topics. Some of my favorites are REBEL, Strong, The Cross, My Father's Daughter, Country Gold, and 3:16. REBEL rallies listeners to stand up and stand out for Jesus. Strong encourages listeners to pray, read God's Word, and lean on the strong arms of our Savior. The Cross is a beautiful, grateful song about God's amazing grace, mercy, love, and sacrifice for us. Chris Tomlin joins Anne Wilson in this song. I got teary when I listened to My Father's Daughter, a sweet song about Anne's relationship with her father. Country Gold talks about the simple happy country life. Jordan Davis joins Anne in this song. 3:16 is yes, about John 3:16; it's a gospel song about Christ's redeeming love and sacrificial death for sinners. By the way, don't be alarmed by the title of the 6th song; it ain't what you think :). Watch the video below.

The songs in this album have encouraging messages that point to Jesus & His gospel and give glory to God. They include gratitude, thankfulness, personal testimony, prayer, faith, hope, healing, reflection, and gospel. They will inspire you to stand firm in your faith and live your faith out loud courageously. You can listen to the REBEL album at https://AnneWilson.lnk.to/REBELPC!MIN.

ANNE WILSON's BIO: One of Nashville's most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a revolution in modern music. The Lexington, KY native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL, fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country. A bold musical statement with an even bolder message of faith, REBEL features her hopeful, healing debut Country single “Rain In The Rearview” as well as chart-topping Christian radio ballad “Strong.” The genre-bending album follows her GRAMMY-nominated 2022 debut My Jesus, with the title track becoming a PLATINUM-certified No. 1 hit on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart. Since then, Wilson has tallied over 900M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and wrapped her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour. Already named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch, one of CMT's Next Women of Country and a 2024 Opry NextStage Artist, she has made high-profile appearances on TODAY and ACM Honors, while earning her first-ever CMT Music Awards nomination, as well as a Billboard Music Award. Unapologetically real, Wilson approaches her craft with a purpose and conviction that sets her apart, declaring, “I am who I am — I'm Anne Wilson. I love God and that's my everything, but I love Country music, too, and I can have a beautiful mix of both."

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
