DVD Review and Giveaway: When Calls the Heart "A Telling Silence"

I'm excited to tell you about the third DVD release of the When Calls the Heart series -- When Calls the Heart "A Telling Silence" . It keeps getting better. In this DVD, Elizabeth Thatcher (a young high society teacher struggling to make a difference in Coal Valley) tries to find out why an eight year old Rosaleen Sullivan becomes mute after her dad died in the mining explosion and wants to help her open up but then Rosaleen goes missing. Meanwhile, the pastor urges Constable Jack Thornton to investigate the church fire that took place three months earlier. Jack discovers evidence that may implicate Cat Montgomery if she insists on keeping silent about what happened the night the church was burned down. To be silent or not to be silent...that's the question. I really enjoyed watching this DVD. There are twists and turns. Faith. Family. Forgiveness. " The light of love restores every lost voice ," writes Elizabeth in her diary. It beautifully summarize...

Book Review and Giveaway: Impact by Tim Irwin

About the author: Dr. Tim Irwin , the author of the  New York Times  best-selling book  Impact: Great Leadership Changes Everything , has been a confidante to thousands of global leaders. He is a favorite guest of Hugh Hewitt and is being featured on a number of Christian radio programs. Irwin sees one central issue anytime a leader “derails”—he believes they have a defect in their “core”, which Irwin says goes beyond the overused term “character”. His new book,  Impact , addresses this and gives actionable ways leaders can protect themselves, and better serve their organizations—especially crucial for those of us who serve in ministry and are walking a Christian walk. My Review: Since I've heard of several leaders' scandalous failures (even among the Christian community) lately, this book piqued my curiosity. " When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. " (Proverbs 29:2) Great leadership...
