Book Review and Giveaway: An Unexplainable Life by Erica Wiggenhorn

My Review:
An Unexplainable Life: Recovering the Wonder and Devotion of the Early Church is a 10-week women's Bible study on Acts 1-12. It's an in-depth verse-by-verse study; there are 5 lessons for each week. It includes great questions for personal reflection and/or group discussion. The leader's guide for this study and Deeper Discoveries (extra material that corresponds with each week's study) are available for free at www.ericawiggenhorn.com. Do you desire to turn the world upside down like the early church? If so, this Bible study is for you! Dig deep into God's Word and you'll never be the same.

Once God unleashed His power through His Holy Spirit on the apostles, their lives became unexplainable and unstoppable. Their unshakable faith and radical transformation point to unexplainable work of God! He wants to do the same for us. He still uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things in order to fulfill His purposes. When Christ is our greatest reality and His message & mission our deepest desire, we become unexplainably confident and courageous to go, show, and tell what Christ has done for us, in us, and through us. We're then ready to make an eternal impact in the world. I appreciate all the work the author put into this study. I enjoy learning about the historical background. Because of the author's conversational style of writing, this Bible study is interesting and not intimidating. The author wants readers to learn from the early Christians what a life redeemed by Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, lived for God's kingdom & glory looks like. May we live a gospel-centered life fearlessly and faithfully! I highly recommend this challenging and inspiring book that will help strengthen your faith and your relationship with God while renewing your passion for the Great Commission.

DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey. When Coach Murphy sees Mickey (a farmer boy) throw apples at a bucket for his pigs, he knows that he has just fo
