Book Review: A God for All Seasons by Patti Tingen

Seasons change but God never changes. God is unchanging in His character, will, and promises. God's immutability gives us comfort, courage, confidence, and hope. He is always present with us through all seasons of our lives. In "A God for All Seasons", the author reflects upon God's faithfulness, love, and blessings for every season and shares from her own personal experiences. Readers will find inspirational devotions for each month of the year. The book begins with winter in December and ends with autumn in November. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) The book covers different times to hope, renew, wait, change, plant, trust, give, celebrate, rest, harvest, believe, and thank. Through it all, God is with us guiding us and caring for us. The book invites us to examine our own spiritual journey, to rely on God's faithful love for us, and to rest in His inexhaustible grace, no matter what challenges we have to face in life. DVD Review and Giveaway: A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes is a family-friendly movie (PG) about a young man diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) and how his God-given talent (his amazing throwing ability) helps him and others. It's about overcoming challenges in life. It is based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" (a true story). It's directed by William Dear, the director of "Angels In the Outfield." It stars Dean Cain who plays Arthur Murphy, a baseball coach and Luke Schroder who plays Mickey, the main character. Excellent performances! My family and I enjoyed this movie. It spoke to my heart deeply because one of my kids has symptoms that are similar to Asperger's Syndrome but the doctors diagnosed him with anxiety disorder, instead. My son is very athletic and great with numbers like Mickey. He is also sensitive to noise and crowds like Mickey.
