Prison Fellowship presents The Restoration Series:
Jonathan’s Walk, a 5-part documentary film series following Jonathan as he is released on parole to join his wife and kids after 15 years in prison. I watched part of the first episode (see the video below) and was very impressed. The story is powerful and the production is well done. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series. The Restoration Series demonstrates how The Academy, a revolutionary in-prison program has helped restore men and women who have been affected by incarceration and combat recidivism (the tendency of a criminal to reoffend).
I really like what it says on their website: "Prison Fellowship believes that every person is made in the image of God, and that no one is beyond His reach. That means there is hope for restoration and healing for prisoners, their families, victims, and all those who have been impacted by crime. Through biblically based programs and a positive community, those who once broke the law can be transformed and mobilized to serve their neighbors, replacing the cycle of crime with a cycle of renewal." Our God is God of hope, healing, restoration, and transformation! I'm so glad and thankful for the wonderful ministries of Prison Fellowship. Do you know anyone who is in prison or used to be in prison? Even if you don't, you may still find this series interesting.
